Motor controller / motor control

What is a motor controller?

A motor controller is an electronic device used to control and regulate the speed, movement, direction and power of an electric motor. The controller receives the signals from the control system and uses sensors to regulate the voltage or current supply in a control loop, for example. It is effectively the „brain“ of a motor system.

What are motor controllers used for?

Motor controllers are always used when a motor is also in use, as they are the interface between the power supply and the motor. Controllers can therefore be found in household appliances as well as in industrial automation with pumps and machines or in a wide variety of electric vehicles and work machines.
