Drive control
What is a drive control unit?
A drive control is an electronic system that controls the (electric) motor of a machine so that the motor can deliver the best possible performance and the machine can be operated efficiently and precisely.
The control unit adjusts the drive power and controls parameters such as the speed or torque for optimum performance. Modern drive controls are often equipped with sensors and can therefore be used in complex vehicles or systems. Drive controls belong to the Motion Control sub-sector.
What is a drive control unit used for?
Drive controls are always used when motors need to be controlled:
- Robot control
- Control of vehicles such as road sweepers, industrial trucks and construction vehicles
- Operation of pumps
- System control
