ISO 25119
What is ISO 25119?
ISO 25119 covers the functional safety of electrical, electronic and programmable electronic systems in tractors as well as in agricultural and forestry machinery. It ensures that electronic controls in work machines operate reliably and safely.
What is the goal of ISO 25119?
The goal of ISO 25119 is to establish safety requirements for electronic controls and safety functions in mobile work machines. These include risk analysis and safety assessment, for example with regard to the severity of possible accidents, the probability of a malfunction, the driver's ability to intervene, and the frequency of a dangerous situation.
Â
The standard uses the Agricultural Performance Level (AgPL) for this purpose. The scale ranges from a to e. AgPL e stands for the highest level of safety requirements.
What does this mean for the field of electrically driven vehicles and machines?
For companies in the field of electrically driven vehicles and machines, ISO 25119 is particularly relevant for mobile work machines and future applications of automation. These include, for example, tractors, field sprayers, combine harvesters, autonomous agricultural machinery, or municipal vehicles such as sweeper machines.
